Seminar

Bai Chong-en, Dean of Tsinghua SEM and Deputy Dean of Tsinghua IGD, said in the opening remarks that the forum aims to gather and attract domestic and foreign green innovation technologies and projects to share, promote and implement, and use technology to help the country's green development.

Du Xiangwan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, shared views in how to achieve the dual carbon goals by the adjustment of China's industrial structure, the demand for high-end manufacturing in the general environment, and the re-understanding of China's energy resource endowment.

Shi Dinghuan, former counselor of the State Council, said that in the process of achieving dual carbon goals, efforts should be made to promote the development of green productivity, and achieve this through the development, application, transformation, and industrialization of scientific and technological innovations. To achieve such a transformation, China needs to establish a new economic system, and carry out various aspects of management innovation, technological innovation and institutional innovation.

Zhou Lihong, President of the EU-China Chamber of Commerce, introduced the three stages of the EU's green footsteps: start-up period, duration period and acceleration period. China and the EU share common goals in the field of green and sustainable development, and both sides are the most active promoters and practitioners of the Paris Agreement on the international stage. China is also a firm supporter of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Chinese-funded enterprises in Europe will also use their own advantages to join the construction of green energy development in Europe.
