On May 8, 2021, the "China Carbon Neutrality Forum" was established in Beijing. The forum was jointly organized by Tsinghua IGD, Huaxia New Supply Economics Research Institute, Environmental Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Beijing Huasoft Technology Development Foundation.
On the day of the inaugural meeting, the Forum issued the "Beijing Declaration on Promoting China's Green Transformation", advocating industries to establish emission reduction targets and ESG strategies in respond to China’s low-carbon commitment to environmental protection; striving to improve resource and energy utilization efficiency in the process of production and consumption; and increasing the proportion of renewable energy in the energy structure. The declaration calls on all countries to work together to achieve global carbon neutrality and build a community of human and natural life by speeding up the formulation of an effective global climate policy framework and governance mechanism.
